Battler likes Rose and Annabeth both! Though he hasn't talked with either in a bit WE SHOULD RECTIFY THAT

He kind of worries about Rose and feels that she should be more open about her feelings and such, but doesn't want to bother her about it either because he's aware he's not exactly a role model in that regard himself! All in all he largely sees her...well, if Emerald is his family, then Rose is like a cousin! So he's kind of protective of her and wants her to be okay, but isn't going to be all up in her business about it.

As for Annabeth, he is also looking for a chessboard quest and also wants to get to know her better, as Beato suggested he should do that in order to be better at chess against her '-'b

Also the character I want in Aather is a surprise to no one look at that sass goddamn. I think Ange would make for some really interesting interactions with the whole cast and of course she is very important to Battler especially! Plus she would complete the Emerald younger siblings set
